Addendum

I'm getting busy as the semester wraps up, but looking back at my last post I feel I should probably update some information. For one thing: it is not a Japanese thing to leave the windows open all the time. That's just my host mother, and her crazy love for fresh air. Apparently the importance of fresh air trumps that of having feeling in my hands. I am growing increasingly proficient at typing with gloves on. On a somewhat related note, apparently all Japanese air conditioners are heaters as well. While there is one in my room, no matter how high I set the temperature on it, it does nothing but blow cool air, which while still warmer than the temperature in the room, really doesn't help anything.
